How to update firmware on Pocophone F1?

Let's start with the first closed bootloader methods. To update the ROM version on the locked device you have to use the "Updater" application, this is the only working method.  If you upgrade or switch to Weekly Developer ROM, the phone will be reset to factory settings and the archive will be erased.

If you already have an open bootloader, you can flash and update via TWRP Custom Recovery. But there are some nuances that you should pay attention before manipulating anything with your device. Current TWRP versions are not working with OTA. You will also need to use the disabled force encryption patch. In short, boot into TWRP, go to "install", select the downloaded ROM, wipe the cache after installation and then flash the encryption patch.
